Alan Brodie was installed into the WM’s chair of Lodge of Great Endeavour No 3597 in Warrington, in a ceremony that was managed superbly by grand officer, WM Gordon Amos, who turns 95 in March. Charles Carr ably assisted him in the presence of the guest of honour, Assistant Provincial Grand Master Stuart Boyd.

After Alan was installed as master, the brethren were treated to a not often seen recital of the working tools of an installed master, which John Whalley and George Flinn carried out. Presentation of the master Masons working tools was carried out by Rob Carr, whilst the second degree working tools and the first degree working tools were ably demonstrated by John Hancock and Martin Ford.
The address to the master was given in the polished and perfect hands of Roy Cowley, with the address to the Wardens was carried out by George Flinn and the address to the brethren of the lodge was delivered by Stuart Boyd with his customary poise and precision.
Stuart then brought the congratulations and fraternal greetings of the Provincial Grand Master Mark Matthews to the master and brethren. In return, he was presented with cheques totalling £1,500 to charities by the new WM. Stuart thanked the WM and brethren of Lodge of Great Endeavour on behalf of the recipients for their very generous donations.
Following a superb installation ceremony, it was then matched by a joyous social board and celebration of a very enjoyable evening.
