At Southport Masonic Hall, members and guests of Fermor Lodge No 1313 gathered to celebrate a truly remarkable milestone of 50 years in Freemasonry for Jim Borsey. Jim has been master of Fermor Lodge on three occasions.

The lodge was then opened in the usual manner and the WM then invested brethren who were unable to attend the installation meeting. Fermor Lodge was also delighted to welcome four new joining members, showing that the lodge continues to be a place where friendship, fellowship and enjoyment thrive.
The Group Chairman, Phil Stock, took centre stage and led the evening’s presentation, delivering a wonderful history of Jim’s life and his journey through Freemasonry, a true ‘This Is Your Life’ moment that captured the spirit and dedication of his Masonic career. After the presentation, Phil presented Jim with his 50 years certificate.
After business being conclude and with help of his officers the WM closed the lodge. The brethren then retired to the bar for drinks, before the evening continued at the festive board, where brethren shared stories, laughter, and excellent food prepared by the talented chef. As always, a raffle and collection were held, raising over £200 for good causes, a testament to the generosity and brotherhood within the lodge.

Congratulations to Jim Borsey on his 50 years of dedicated service to Fermor Lodge and Freemasonry were continued at the festive board with speeches and toasts in Jim’s honour. After the tyler’s toast had been given, the brethren continued the celebrations at the bar.
At Fermor Lodge’s December meeting, they will proudly initiate a new candidate into rich and growing history of the lodge and ending the year with yet another new member.
