Westhoughton Masonic Hall was the splendid venue for the companions of Westhoughton Chapter No 4215to perform the exaltation ceremony of Gabriel Lount Braisteanu into Royal Arch.
The chapter was opened at 6:30pm by the three principals, first principal Peter Hannis, second principal Duncan Hopkins and third principal William Garland. Also in attendance was Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Paul Hesketh, who the chapter companions were very honoured to welcome.
After the minutes of the previous convocation had been confirmed, a fine exaltation ceremony took place. The work being shared by the companions of Westhoughton Chapter in a most impressive and delightful ceremony.
The principal sojourner David Peacock echoing the high standards set by all, guiding Gabriel during the ceremony.
The proceedings of the ceremony were overseen by the chapter’s director of ceremonies Duncan Hopkins in a highly efficient and commendable manner. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the new companion, Gabriel Braisteanu, expressed his delight in becoming a companion of Royal Arch Freemasonry and thanked everyone for making his evening one that he will remember for years to come.
The festive board was a most enjoyable and lively affair. Derek English proposed a toast to the health of the newly exalted companion, and in responding to that toast Gabriel expressed his sincere thanks for the way that all of the companions had welcomed him and made his night so memorable. A raffle at the festive board raised £102 for charity.
Paul Hesketh, Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, also congratulated Gabriel on taking the next most important step on his Masonic journey. Paul went on to highlight the indissoluble link between the Craft and Royal Arch Masonry and hoped that this would encourage others to follow Gabriel’s footsteps.
