Festive jumpers and attire were the order of the day for the brethren of Temple Lodge No 1094, when the brethren, including many family members and friends, enjoyed a Greek mezze as part of their Christmas celebrations.

Over 40 brethren and guests, including the Liverpool Group Chairman Dave Johnson, met at Zorbas Restaurant in Liverpool, for great food, wine and plenty of chat and laughter, some of those attending very generously brought raffle prizes for the charity collection. The evening had been arranged by Howard Youdan, Temple Lodge Charity Steward, with the charity being selected by the WM Jon Tyrer, and the monies going to Liverpool Women’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Plenty of prizes and the ability to have sold all the raffle tickets meant that £165 could be donated to the charity. The charity is close to the heart of the WM Jon Tyrer and his wife, after their daughter received the specialist requirements that the unit could offer at the time of her birth. The unit was able to stabilise their child before emergency surgery was required at Alder Hey Hospital.
Jon Tyrer gives praise to the staff, who he states at the time were not expecting them, but when minutes mattered, they provided the care needed, for both his daughter and his wife. The unit was again called upon when Jon Tyrer’s nephew was born, and again much praise was given.
Those present at the Greek mezze had a great time, with plenty of socialising, and the chance of meeting the proprietor, whose husband use to be a brother of the lodge. The food was of a high standard and enjoyed by all.
