In the presence of Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah Brian Griffiths, the representative of the Grand Superintendent Mark Matthews, Glenn Hudson, Derek Pallister and Tony Jackson were installed as the three principals of Henry Cook Chapter No 1021.

44 companions witnessed the installation ceremony at Fairfield Masonic Hall at Barrow. Preceding the installation ceremony, Mike Jenkins was successfully balloted for and admitted as a joining member, Mike thanked the companions for welcoming him to the chapter.
Director of ceremonies Dennis Laird retired for a short time and upon his re-entry into the chapter room announced that Brian Griffiths, representative of the Grand Superintendent Mark Matthews requested admission. Brian was admitted, accompanied by grand officers Rowly Saunders and John Quiggin, Provincial Grand Sojourner Mick Lacey and Furness and South Lakeland Group Chairman Chris Gray. Group vice chairman Harry Chatfield and group secretary Tony Jackson were already in the room, as being members of Henry Cook Chapter.
The three principals elect were presented by Dennis Laird and Tony Jackson was installed as third principal of the chapter and Scott Deakin read a portion of scripture and Tony occupied his seat in the chapter. Derek Pallister was installed as second principal of the chapter and Matty Woods read a portion of scripture and Derek occupied his seat in the chapter. Glenn Hudson was installed as first principal of the chapter and Bill Joughin read a portion of scripture and he also occupied his seat in the chapter.
Once the three principals had been installed in the usual customary manner, the junior companions of Henry Cook Chapter were re-admitted to the chapter room. Phil Renney, first principal of Semper Sursum Chapter No. 5622, delivered the robe address to the first principal in an excellent manner. Bill Joughin gave the robe address to the second principal in his customary elegant style and John Donnelly recited the robe address to the third principal with great dignity and precision.
Harry Chatfield gave the address to the three principals with his usual panache and with just a touch of humour and Brian Griffiths gave the address to the companions of the chapter. At the conclusion of the investiture of the officers of the chapter, Brian rose to bring the greetings of the Grand Superintendent Mark Matthews, praising all those who had taken part in the ceremony, especially the three companions who had delivered the robe addresses and also thanked installing first principal Mort Richardson for his work in the chapter.
Glenn then presented Brian with a £500 cheque for the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity. Brian thanked Glenn and the companions of the chapter for their generous donation. John Quiggin brought the greetings from grand officers and Alan Everett those of Provincial grand officers. At the festive board, diners were treated to a pâté starter, followed by a roast chicken dinner, rounded off with a cheese board.
