John Shaw, who is a member of Tyldesley Lodge No 2572, completed a 56-mile cycling challenge throughout February to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Research Fund.

John has lost friends to prostate cancer and had a scare himself a couple of years ago. Fortunately, it was not the big C as suspected, but an operation was required, followed by months of recovery. Since this experience, John has always tried to support the Prostate Cancer Research Fund and took up the challenge to raise money for the worthy cause.
Throughout February, the weather wasn’t particularly kind for outdoor cycling, however John managed to complete a tremendous 164.5 miles of riding and raised a total of £300.
The nationwide challenge raised a total of £333,924 for the Prostate Cancer Research Fund and John would like to thank everyone who supported him and donated to his own charity challenge.
