The officers of Fermor Lodge No 1313 excelled themselves at the raising ceremony of Roy Carnall to the sublime degree of master Mason, despite many of the officers performing the degree for the very first time. The evening began with the master Damon Noone opening the lodge before delegating the ceremony to the renowned talents of John Husdell.

John stepped forward and with his customary friendly manner and panache, delivered a truly splendid rendition of the ceremony of raising. Chris Lathom then took over, delivering a word-perfect explanation of the Traditional History and working tools. The experience and skill of these two exceptional brothers shone through providing both warmth, confidence and a superb example for the more junior officers on the floor.
Following this, Chris returned the chair of King Solomon to Damon, who then admitted the remaining Masons and concluded the ceremony. The officers of the lodge who performed the degree for the first time, impressed everyone with their confident and polished delivery. The strength and commitment within the lodge is a cause for some celebration, and it is clear standards will not be falling anytime soon with such immense talent amongst the junior officers.
The evening continued in fine style at the festive board, where good company and charitable giving were the order of the night. The raffle and other collections raised over £220 for worthy causes, showing the generosity of the brethren in attendance.
Fermor Lodge brethren expressed their gratitude to their visiting brethren who offered kind salutations on behalf of their respective lodges. Meanwhile, Roy is already looking forward to his journey in Freemasonry, with plans to visit other lodges in the near future. Despite their considerable talents at ritual, Fermor Lodge is most renowned for the friendliness. The brethren of Fermor Lodge are well known around the group for visiting and bringing the sunshine with them. In return Fermor Lodge always welcomes visitors, and all of Southport knows the warm reception always available at their festive boards.
