Temple Lodge 1094 was pleased to introduce Kyle Johnson as a new member to its fold. Kyle taking his first steps into Freemasonry. The ceremony was held in the Roman Room at Liverpool Masonic Hall, Hope Street. Kyle, a Commercial Administrator, was supported by his proposer John Tyrer and seconder John Bruffell.

Grand officers were in attendance, Robb Fitzsimmons, Tom Lovatt, Steve Walls, Liverpool Group Chairman Dave Johnson and the brethren of Temple Lodge. WM Andrew Williamson opened the lodge in the usual manner and was then assisted throughout the ceremony by other brethren of the lodge.
Members then conducted a heartfelt and exceptional ceremony. Ray Parr, the lodge assistant director of ceremonies, gave the address in the northeast part of the lodge, and the working tools were presented by Stephen Lawrence Walls, the junior warden. Jon Tyrer, the senior warden, then gave the newly initiated brother an impeccable Charge after Initiation, which was greatly appreciated by the brethren present.
The social festive board that followed the initiation was the usual enjoyable affair, including several insightful explanations to assist Kyle. The toast to the WM Andrew Williamson and the initiating ceremony brethren was given by Stan Merrill who thanked the master for his work during the ceremony. Stan also thanked all the brethren that had taken part in the joyous occasion.
Stan Merrill gave the 9 o’clock toast to absent and seafaring brethren with an explanation to Kyle, explaining the strong link to Liverpool as a maritime port. Brethren especially considered those that were due to attend, but due to recent sickness were unable to do so.
The toast to the newly initiated brother was given by his proposer Jon Tyrer, who recounted a story of a home visit including an apple and an orange. On being prepared for his initiation outside the door of the lodge, Kyle received quizzical responses from the outer guard when asked: What I do with the apple and orange?
Kyle responded to his toast, and confirmed the account of the apple and orange, and only discovered that evening that it had no association with Freemasonry at all, other than a rouse created and fully put into place by his proposer. Kyle is looking forward to becoming an active member of the lodge and had fully endorsed his enjoyment from the ceremony and the night.
