A particularly esteemed crowd attended Scarisbrick Chapter No 2295 installation meeting in Southport as David Barr, Third Provincial Grand Principal, made a welcome return visit. David was accompanied not just by Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Malcolm Alexander, but also the Southport Group Chairman Phil Stock, the vice chairman Brian Griffiths and a decorated coterie of grand and acting Provincial grand officers.
The guests were treated to a truly excellent ceremony as Barry Dearden was installed as first principal for a second time by his colleague and long-time friend Iain Brown, who had himself just completed his second period as first principal of the chapter.
The evening then proceeded to the festive board where David Barr was given an exceptionally warm welcome by the members. In return David stood to congratulate Barry and those taking part in the ceremony on an efficient and well organised meeting. He noted the excellent ritual which was clearly enjoyable to not just those witnessing but those taking part, as the members of Scarisbrick Chapter clearly enjoyed their Freemasonry. In return he entertained the companions with recollections of the friendship and companionship he had enjoyed on his last visit to the chapter some years ago.
To round the evening off, David was presented with a truly exceptional set of charity donations which totalled a massive £600, an exceptional amount by any standards. David gave thanks to the companions of Scarisbrick Chapter for their very generous donations.
Scarisbrick Chapter continues to embody the spirit of friendship and charity it always has, and may the future continue for this exceptional group of companions.
