At the installation meeting of Chapter of Faith No 484, who meet at the Masonic Hall, Bryn Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, the new first principal Stephen Hulse was delighted to hand over a cheque in favour of Motor Neurone Disease Association in the sum of £200.
Second Provincial Grand Principal Michael Threlfall was delighted to receive the donation, informing those present that he would ensure it was passed on to the relevant charity.
MND is the short term for motor neurone disease, which affects the nerves known as motor neurones. These nerves are found in the brain and spinal cord and they help tell your muscles what to do. If you have MND, this means your movement will be affected and you are likely to get a wide range of symptoms.
Some people also get changes to their thinking and behaviour, but the disease affects everyone differently. Not all symptoms will affect everyone, or in the same order. Symptoms also progress at varying speeds, which makes the course of the disease difficult to predict.
MNDA is here to help everyone living with and affected by MND, access the help and support they need. Whether you want to speak to them over the phone, connect with others affected by MND or find local support, find out about the different ways the Association can help you.
