Last year’s food bank appeal generated a wonderful donation of £2,000 through the very generous efforts from the Craft brethren and Royal Arch companions within the Leigh Group of lodges and chapters.

Group chairman, Jonathan Heaton. presented the cheque to the project manager Warren Dunn which was gratefully received on behalf of the Leigh Baptist Church, Vernon Street, which is approximately half a mile from the Masonic Hall.
At the presentation, Jonathan was supported by David Gordon-Williams the group charity steward and Anthony Roe the group publicity officer who made the report and took the photographs on the day. The images show only a very small proportion of food baskets that the church hall had accumulated.

The food donations were offered by many small local businesses and individuals in the town, as well as the major stores and supermarkets, namely, Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsburys, Aldi and Lidl.
A wonderful effort from those Masons and individuals who contributed some of their finances and a personal contribution and involvement with their time and effort in the 2023 food bank appeal.
