Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals John Murphy made his very first visit to the Masonic Hall, Elm Bank, Eccles at the regular December convocation at the Chapter of Hope No 2679. It was to witness the installation of Paul Newton into the first principal’s chair.
Paul, being almost as new to Elm Bank as our new Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, having only joining the chapter in October 2023.
John Murphy was accompanied by Provincial Grand Standard Bearer Eddie Wilkinson. Colin Rowling Past Assistant to the Provincial Grean Principals, now an honouree member of the chapter. gave the address to the companions.
Prior to the meeting, John Murphy was shown around Elm Bank by the group chairman Stuart Boyd who later continued the tradition of presenting him with Eccles cakes.
The companions of the chapter enjoyed a festive social board and look forwards to a busy 2024 with a number of candidates for exaltation in the pipeline.
